How does small-group tutoring work?

Sessions are 1–6 students. Groups are not matched by year and subject. Students are put into separate breakout rooms in online lessons so they can focus without distractions, and a tutor rotates through the rooms to answer questions and ensure students know what to work on and are on task.

What subjects do you cover?

English 7–12 (standard, advanced and extension); Maths 7–12 (standard, advanced, extension 1 and extension 2); science 7–10; HSC chemistry, physics, biology; history 7–10; and many more!

How much does it cost?

Sessions are $100 per student — that's $50/hr for a 2-hour session. We offer a 20% multi-session discount when you book a term upfront. For a 10-week term, that's 20 hours at $40/hr for $800 — twice the value of most tutoring services. Your first session is free — no commitment required.

Can I try a free session first?

Yes. We offer a free trial session for every new student. You'll attend a real group session (not a demo), so you get a genuine feel for how it works before committing.

What if my child needs 1-on-1 support instead?

Small groups work well for most students. If your child has very specific gaps or needs a more intensive catch-up plan, we can discuss 1-on-1 options. Reach out at admin@tutortree.com.au.

How do I book?

What happens if we need to cancel?

We ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be forfeited. We understand life happens — if something urgent comes up, let us know as soon as possible.

Do you offer HSC-specific help?

Yes — HSC is our primary focus. All our tutors are familiar with the current NSW syllabus, marking criteria, and exam technique. We cover everything from early Year 11 through to Trial and final HSC exams.

Question 9

Do you only do HSC?

Not at all — we tutor Year 7–10 students across Maths, English, and Science as well. We can also help with other major exams including SAT, ACT, VCE, QCE and IB coursework.
